This is a tough blow for the Anaheim Ducks. The team’s general manager Bob Murray has just confirmed that both forward Patrick Eaves and Ryan Kesler will miss the entirety of the 2019-20 season.
Kesler underwent hip resurfacing surgery back in May after dealing with many health issues last year. He registered just eight points in 60 games last season.
Eaves took part in just 14 games total last season between the Ducks and their AHL farm club, the San Diego Gulls. He has been affected by a chronic condition called post-viral syndrome which sidelined him for much of last season. It seems to be an issue once again this year.
The Ducks will need to find a way to compensate for these two veteran leaders missing from their lineup.
