The Oilers could make several moves...

This would have certainly surprised many if this line was written last summer, but today, it looks understandable : the Edmonton Oilers are likely to be sellers at the Feb. 26 trade deadline this season.

If the Canadian club is unable to reserve their current sad fortunes, and get some wins on their record, The Athletic's Allan Mitchell believes four players on the roster could become rental players.

Pending unrestricted free agents Patrick Maroon, Mike Cammalleri, Mark Letestu and Yohann Auvitu are expected to be placed on the trade block, in hopes to get a young winger who can play a top-nine role, along with a few draft picks.

"Edmonton should get terrific value from Maroon, who scored 27 goals a year ago and is on pace for another 20-goal season in 2017-18," writes Mitchell.

Many NHL insiders, notably TSN's Bob McKenzie believes the Oilers will not move Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

But as you can see, a lot of other players could land on the market, and give the Oilers an interesting return to build a better future with key pieces like Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl
