Update: Defensive Pairings

When head coach Jeff Blashill mentioned last week that he would be evaluating Mike Green’s performances differently this year, it’s hard to imagine that he expected the offensive blue-liner to light up the lamp three times in last night’s 5-1 rout of the Ottawa Senators.

 

Shots on net and chances created have become the standards by which Green’s performances will be analyzed, which evidently tells us that his defensive shortcomings have been accepted by the organization.

 

Still, Blashill has opted to keep his defensive pairings together. At least, that’s what he did earlier today during team practice, and it’s believed that the duos below are the ones that will take to the ice against the New York Rangers tomorrow night.

 

Ryan Sproul is expected to sit out another game.
