Weise: Going to Chicago was a disaster...

That's not something you hear very often.

One of the strengths of the Chicago Blackhawks' organization, at least in recent years, has been their ability to attract top level talent, and often at a lesser price than that talent could have signed elsewhere. That's why it was so surprising to hear a player speak so negatively about his experience with the Blackhawks.

Dale Weise was having a solid season with the Canadians, and in fact had already hit a career high with 14 goals prior to being traded to the Blackhawks, where he would then fail to score again for the remainder of the regular season, something he blames on the way the team used him.

"I had 14 goals by mid-February," he said as per Philly.com's Sam Carchidi. "Going to Chicago was a disaster because I played like five minutes a night. It's pretty tough to do anything when you play so little. It was a new experience for me."

Of course Chicago had a great deal of depth at forward so it's hard to blame them for using Weise the way they did, but it's also hard to blame Weise for feeling he wasn't given a fair shot when a member of that team.
