Scary moment as NHL veteran goes head first into the boards tonight.

This was a very scary looking crash.

St, Louis blues veteran Jaden Schwartz went crashing into the boards head first on Wednesday night during a match up with the Chicago Blackhawks, and initially the impact looked devastating. 

Schwartz was unable to protect himself and as a result his head and neck too the brunt of the blow, but thankfully he was able to get up and leave the game under his own power which under the circumstances is a good sign. 

While many initially played Blackhawks veteran Richard Panik for tripping him, looking closely at the video replay it appears as though Schwartz may simply have lost his balance. Whether that was as a result of being off balance due to Panik's initial hook is unclear. 

We hope he's going to be alright.
