Habs goaltender Carey Price releases latest mask artwork

The Habs goaltender continues to look sharp.

Michael W.

Former Hart Trophy winning goaltender Carey Price has yet to suit up for the Montreal Canadiens this season after he announced that he was taking a leave of absence to enter the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program.

He also had missed training camp while continuing his recovery from July surgery for a torn meniscus.

Though he has yet to hit the ice in game action, he has skated at the team's practice facility and is taking his treatment "day by day". But in the meantime, fans have a better idea of the look he'll be sporting when he does return.

He's released his latest mask artwork courtesy of Dave Gunnarsson of DaveArt, who boasts nearly 3/4 of NHL goaltenders among his clientele.

As always, Gunnarsson includes a creative description of the artwork:

I am very excited to unleash the latest Montreal Canadiens mask for my friend Carey Price⭐️🇨🇦. As always it is awesome to paint and create together with Carey🙏🏻😊. This new design is evolved from his previous mask design➡️. A crisp and clean look on a distance, and when you come closer🔍 you will enter a total thrill ride of detail work and 3️⃣-D effects. It is all based on and inspired from the beautiful team logos✨. Thanks Carey!🙏🏻😊 @cp0031 @canadiensmtl #DaveArtFamily @nhl #DaveArtTheCradleOfCreativity @proschoicemask ⭐️

Price, who will be entering his 15th season in the NHL, is in the midst of an eight-year, $84 million contract. He's a former Hart Trophy winner as the NHL's Most Valuable Player during the 2014-15 season, as well as a two-time Vezina Trophy winner as the NHL's top goaltender.

Of course, Montreal's surprise run to the Stanley Cup Final last season was fueled by the play of Price, who posted a postseason record 13-9-0 with a .924 save percentage and 2.28 GAA.
